Margaret Wilding Garden Design

I am a garden designer with a love of plants, located between Settle and Ingleton in The Yorkshire Dales. I cover a wide area of North Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria between Skipton, Kendal, Lancaster and beyond. I work towards more naturalistic styles of planting, developing plant associations that grow happily together with minimal maintenance, and designing beautiful gardens that are in harmony with their surroundings.

After working as an assistant garden designer for several years, I received a Distinction in an HND in Garden Design in 2001, and began my own garden design business. Since then, I have designed, advised upon and helped to create many gardens, ranging from small town backyards, to larger country plots. I have also been involved in community projects, such as the Settle-in-Bloom group, which was awarded the Silver Medal upon its first entry into the Yorkshire in Bloom competition.

My fundamental design philosophy remains constant, whatever the size or location of the garden: to create gardens that are in tune with nature, designed to evolve and develop over time, and which require low maintenance levels in order to sustain them.
