In my design approach I am using (among other tools) the system of design patterns described in the book 'Pattern Language' and later works of Austrian/American architect Christopher Alexander. The book "Pattern Language" describes design elements that can be in combinations incorporated in a project. The book itself exposes some shortcomings of Intenational Style and "Modern Architecture".

It is highly regarded by Permaculture and Transition Towns movements. The most direct and responsive use of solar energy. It is passive in a way that it is responsive. This simple approach is often obscured or entirely abandoned in most contemporary buildings.
