M & S Softwood

The company was formed in 1998 by Owen McGuigan and Martin Simpson, together with Mellanskog Industrie AB. Mellanskog later merged with Assi Domain to form the Setra Group of which M&S (Softwood) Ltd is now a member company. The group comprises forestry owners, sawmills and planing mills located in central and northern Sweden. The company operates from two warehouses approx. 8000m2 located on the docks in King's Lynn, and currently employs 28 people. The core business is to machine and hold stocks of high quality Scandinavian planed goods, and to distribute these nationwide, efficiently and effectively. Our customer base comprises mainly of independent Timber & Builders merchants throughout England & Wales. The volume stock items are for the most part machined in-house by way of two production lines, using Weinig and Wadkin technology.
