As a mutual business we are owned by our Members, no shareholders or dividends to pay, so we make every decision by putting our Members interest first. The Society remains proud of its origins, starting in 1867 by local businessmen. Over 140 years the Society has changed a lot. However, generations of staff and managers have put Members and customers first which is why we are still here today. One difference you will notice from larger financial service businesses is that we encourage Members feedback and we actively seek their views.
