Valerie qualified as a chartered surveyor in London in 1985, although she had been working as a surveyor prior to that. Within six months of her qualification she was made an Assistant Director of one of the major firms in East London. Within two years Valerie was made a full Director. In 1991 she set up her own chartered surveyor practice, acting as a sole practitioner specialising in commercial premises. In addition to being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Valerie is a Member of the Institute of Arbitrators and holds an Honours Degree.
