La Belle Cake Company is a well established company creating cakes in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Formed as Cakes by Shelly by Shelly Shulman in April 2006 with a rebrand in 2015, La Belle Cake Company specialises in bespoke couture cakes for all occasions. Our love for baking and intricate sugar craft skills has ensured our place as Bedfordshire’s leading designer of award winning wedding and celebration cakes. As a true believer in the art of sugar craft all our cakes feature 100% decoration – after all a cake is designed to be eaten.

Shelly’s passion for cake decorating was instilled at an young age when she used to sit and watch her grandmother Iris make wedding cakes and her mother make birthday cakes for her and her sister. When Shelly had her own children the time had come for her to put everything she had learnt into practice. Her natural talent and ability for sugar craft shone through leading to a flurry of orders from family and friends. With a gentle nudge in the right direction, Shelly turned her creativity into a career gaining on the way a City and Guilds qualification in Design for Craft and Sugar Decoration. Since then Shelly has gained a multitude of awards and recognition including the Ideal Home Professional Cake Decorator of the Year, Enterprising Business of the Year and Self Employed Person of the Year along with numerous awards from Cake International for her designs and craftsmanship.
