Kennel Maids was founded in 2000 by Wendy Senior. " I have worked professionally within the animal care industry over the past 34 years: Having ridden from an early age I spent my teenage years working with County Show ponies, then latterly as a groom on the British show jumping circuit. I then went on to work in a renowned boarding kennels in Yorkshire where I was responsible for training students from Park Lane Animal Care College.
Working along side Sid Jenkins, ex RSPCA Regional Inspector; teaching students all aspects of animal care, both psychological and physical, First Aid, welfare, custody and control. We also provided kennelling for HMP Wakefield prison dogs who came to us for their rest periods. These dogs needed specialist handling and understanding. This experience provided a vital learning tool into the deeper understanding of canine behaviour."
"Kennel Maids was established in 2000 predominately as a dog walking / pet sitting / cat care service ; to cater for owners who were out at work all day/out for the day/elderly/on holiday or just busy."
"As time went by, I was asked to provide Home Boarding for my clients dogs not suitable for traditional boarding; usually due to age, ill health , special needs or simply not able to cope due to stress or separation anxiety. "
