It has created a diverse portfolio of distinctive sites in key areas.In 1996 Kaikoura Investments was formed by Richard Brake as a special purpose vehicle to acquire a portfolio of 8 partially let office buildings from receivers acting for Barclays Bank as Mortgagee in possession.Kaikoura acts as speculator, catalyst and property developer with a new build development programme of over 140,000 sq ft. One of its specialist fields is the conversion of character, trophy and listed properties to pub, restaurant or night club use. Kaikoura helps to rediscover the potential of older and period buildings with the aim of sympathetically restoring and breathing 21st Century life into the past. The investment portfolio contains a range of individual and character buildings spread across a broad geographical area of the UK.
