Founded in 2006 by entrepreneur Joe Michaels and Oxford University renewables lecturer Dr Chris Jardine, Joju Solar have been pioneers in the renewables industry ever since. Applying our ethical stance to business, we have supported the drive for solar on social housing – helping the very poorest benefit from free electricity from the sun. We have helped pioneer ‘democratic energy’; from building the very first community-funded solar project in the UK, to installing some of the largest community projects around. We’ve been responsible for nearly 10% of all community renewables in the UK, and all of our projects have been rooftop-mounted solar.
Adapting to the changing UK market we are now market leaders in battery storage, especially the Tesla Powerwall, and developing innovative smart grid projects. The latest addition to our portfolio is electric vehicle chargers, and we are becoming the go-to installer for councils, businesses and homeowners across the country.
