Jo's Childminding

I have been childminding since 2011, however my interest in working with children began when I had my first child in 1998. Before I became a childminder I worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school. I have since gained Early Years Teacher status and managed a nursery. I offer childcare for children from birth up to 5 years. I aim to provide a family atmosphere where children feel valued within a warm, safe and friendly home environment. My role is to plan activities and experiences based around the children’s interests, needs and abilities, through a variety of age and stage appropriate toys, activities and outings in my home and local area. I want children to have fun whilst they are in my care. I provide activities and experiences that are fun and stimulating, and appropriate to their individual needs. I incorporate visits to a variety of toddler groups, local shops, library, parks, woods and farms. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to observe, plan and assess children’s progress.
