IPS was approached by a major oil and chemical company to produce container labels that met the high EU specifications. The most stringent of the specifications was that the label would be able to withstand immersion in the sea for 6 months and if then and washed up onto the shore the label will still be readable. With consultation with substrate, adhesive and laminate manufacturers IPS produced this label to the required specifications. During this process, IPS also developed a cutting system which sealed the edges against water penetration.
