Based in the world famous wedding capital Gretna Green, Hype opened in May 1997 by hair stylist Thelma Taylor and beauty therapist Helen Coombes after they gained experience and developed their skills working in local salons for several years. Soon they were joined by stylists Amy Murchison and Amy Hampson, and receptionist Kirsty Pagan.
