Hungate is a centre for exhibitions and events, in the heart of the medieval city of Norwich. It is run by a dedicated charity, Hungate Medieval Art. Hungate presents at least two free public exhibitions a year, each accompanied by a full program of learning and family activities. To this end alternate exhibitions showcase recent work, all of which develops on themes from the medieval world. This fusion of the medieval and contemporary is one of our unique strengths.
We exist to promote both the medieval art visible in the County of Norfolk (through exhibitions, research and an events and learning programme) and contemporary use of medieval art, approaches and buildings. Hungate Medieval Art is currently seeking 100 Angels in Norwich to give a donation of £100 in order to secure our future running costs.
For each £100 donation we will be filling a square of our Angel, with a company logo or name, to create a unique piece of art which we will be exhibiting in the entrance to Hungate and on our website, as a testament to the support of the local community.
