Here at Humphrey’s, we use only the highest quality raw ingredients that come from known local suppliers that we have dealt with for many years. We only buy the best quality fresh fish that money can buy.

Rest assured that we care for the environment, and therefore our fish is sourced from sustainable stocks. Our potatoes are sourced for the quality and flavour and where possible purchased locally. We only use fry max, it is an additive free, longer lasting product that delivers perfect fish and chips. Humphrey’s is a traditional English Fish & Chip shop that has been established for over 50 years in the Kent area. The business was started buy James & Catherine Humphrey in the Sixties accumulating with there first Fish & Chip Shop in Patterns Lane Chatham. The business was extended by there son & daughter Jim & Joan Humphrey in the Seventies, they went onto open 5 shops in the Kent area. Since their retirement Jim’s two Sons Chris & Andy have followed in the Humphrey family tradition. Chris Humphrey has been established in the Fish & Chip industry since 1994. Chris worked in one of his Dad’s shops when he was 15 as a chip boy then progressed to work in his brother Andy’s shop in Meopham as Manager. March 2003 Chris left Meopham in search for a prime location for his first shop. March 2004 saw the opening of the well established & successful shop in Allington. In August 2006 Chris Bramley joined the Allington Shop as Assistant Manager with aspirations of one day owning his own shop. In 2011 both Chris’s wanted to expand the Humphrey name with it’s traditional English values & felt that Kings Hill would be a prime location. April 2012 saw the opening of their second shop in Kings Hill where both Chris’s became partners. Kings Hill has started out as a take-away and we have now opened a fully licensed fish and chip restaurant.
