Herbs & Acupuncture

Chinese medicine has two basic components Acupuncture (is often used in conjunction with Moxibustion) and Chinese Herbal Therapy. The Chinese people have been using acupuncture and herbal therapy to restore, promote and maintain good health for thousands of years. The aim of Chinese Herbal Medicines and Acupuncture are to regulate the meridians or channels of the body to unlock the stagnation of Qi (energy). It is a principal of Chinese Medicine that disease is caused as a direct result of these energy blockages within the body. The channels are related to the internal organs, which if out of balance is another important factor in the cause of disease. Chinese Herbal Medicines and Acupuncture are used to correct this imbalance. Chinese Medicine is therefore a truly holistic form of medicine, aiming at the treatment of the whole body rather than just the symptoms. Because of this it may take some time to notice the benefits, although with some problems the effects could be very dramatic.
