Halstead is located approximately 13 miles north-west of Colchester at the junction of the A1124 Cambridge to Colchester road, and A131 Chelmsford to Bury St. Edmunds roads. Stanstead Airport and the M11 are approximately 40 minutes drive via Dunmow on the A120. A good bus service serves both Halstead and the villages, interconnecting with the larger towns of Colchester and Chelmsford, for direct line rail services.
