The origins of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture stretch back for over two thousand years, and it has been practiced and developed in its own unique flavours for millennia throughout Asia and parts of India. In modern times, the practice of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine has spread worldwide to the United States, Australia, Europe, South America and Africa.
My own background was initially in the Sciences - I studied Neurobiology and Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley in the 1970's. After moving to England in 1979, I worked in health and arts charities, and later as a market analyst in a business consultancy. In 1993 I began my studies in Chinese Medicine at the London School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. This school has now become part of the University of Westminster in London. I obtained a degree in acupuncture in 1996, and have been practicing in Hampshire for the last 16 years. In 2008, I studied pre-prepared Chinese Herbal Remedies at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York.
