We are based at The Commons, Prettygate/Lexden, Colchester, CO3 4NW. The original studio was designed and built for Erica Hills in 1959, by her father. Her niece, Hannah Butcher, started at the salon as an apprentice in 1960 and managed the salon from 1964 to 1974.

The original studio was designed and built for Erica Hills in 1959, by her father. Her niece, Hannah Butcher, started at the salon as an apprentice in 1960 and managed the salon from 1964 to 1974. Assuming official ownership, she ran the salon until 2004 when she retired from hairdressing, having sold the salon to Richard and Linda Bokenham. They owned and ran it until 2012 when current owner, Joan Latham, purchased the salon and renamed it Hair Artistry.
Joan has totally refurbished the salon and reception area and Hair Artistry to provide a relaxing, modern look in keeping with the new management's goals and policies.
