Grampian & Northern Karate Association
The Grampian and Northern Karate Association (GNKA) was formed in 1985 by Sensei Brian Bothwell 6th Dan. The GNKA was set up to cover the whole spectrum of our martial art and to further develop an understanding administration that listens to the needs of all the many aspects of Karate from Sport to Traditional, from the youngest beginner to the most senior instructor. We are directly affiliated to, and governed by, the Scottish Karate Governing Body (SKGB).

It is worthwhile remembering that karate practice is an ideal way to promote a healthier lifestyle. The exercises involve the use of the whole body, enhancing flexibility, muscle strength and stamina to develop a well-balanced body. Karate can be practised alone or in a class group, it does not require a partner, or any special equipment or apparatus, and can be practised just about anywhere.
