It is one of the leading grain export facilities in the UK, and in 2012/13 handled 33% of the UK's wheat exports. The Grain Terminal offers customers excellent transport links to and from the port, with easy access to the A12/A14.

The Grain Terminal (Ipswich) Ltd was founded in 1980 as a joint venture between Pauls Malt Ltd and International Corn Co Ltd. As a result the silo facility was designed with the purpose of being able to handle both Grain and Malt.
