Coach Ricky started his BJJ training in December 2008 under local Martial Arts legend Dave Briggs. In 2009 the team started training under Victor Estima. Due to the expansion of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the East Midlands area In Sept 2012 Ricky started training under Paul Cole and in May 2013 he achieved gold at the British Open at the purple belt level.
In January 2014 he entered the IBJJF European Open and narrowly missed out durng the Quarter Finals. Ricky is currently working towards improving his teaching skills even further as well as competing in more major competitions. His speciality is his very dangerous, submission based, closed guard.
