An ungroomed dog will develop scurf and this, along with the build up of dead fur and dander, will not allow the skin to breathe and regenerate itself adequately. Relationship - grooming is part of dog's socialisation activities. Regular grooming helps create a bond between you and your dog, and accustoms the dog to being handled. This could be for something as simple as a brush and comb through so that the puppy gets used to having his or her paws, ears and tail handled.

Senior, timid and nervous dogs are treated gently, with the same care that I give to my own highly strung and very nervous Cocker Spaniel. I will check your dog from head to tail before I start grooming to spot any possible skin or health problems that may need attention from your vet. On arrival I will discuss the choice of groom with you each time you visit with your dog, so you can manage the coat between grooming sessions.
