George Tannahill & Sons

In January 1882, George Tannahill set up a business as an upholsterer and cabinet maker in George Street, Kilmarnock. Working tirelessly to create only the most beautifully finished products he quickly outgrew these premises, so in the early 1900s set about building a new store, fit for the future, with living accommodation above, in John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock. From this store, which continues the family tradition today, the next generations of the Tannahill family has grown the business from strength to strength. From its origins, George Tannahill believed in quality, service and value for money. As the business developed from the service of providing upholstery, cabinet making, French polishing, removals and undertaking the business developed to a new emphasis on sales of high quality house furnishing selling inspirational furniture, upholstery, beds and carpets.
