Gent Transport

Established in 1974 by John Gent, Gent Transport and Warehousing started as an express delivery company with a single escort van. Due to John’s work ethic and passion for success, the company flourished resulting in Gent Transport and Warehousing moving into household removals, furniture deliveries and storage. In the 1980’s, Gent transport and Warehousing moved its operation to a 10,000 sq ft warehouse in Yate, opposite our current premises, when it was decided to expand in to palletised storage and distribution. From here the business thrived and within 5 years Gent Transport and Warehousing had outgrown this site and it was obvious they needed more space to cope with the increasing workload. In 1992 Gent Transport and Warehousing moved across the road to their current premises (65,000 sq ft), which has facilitated their expansion to the company they are today. Gent Transport and Warehousing are a family owned and run business. Favouring a close relationship with the other members of staff, Gent Transport has produced a loyal and dedicated workforce, many of whom have worked here for a considerable amount of time. Over the years, John has been joined by his sons in the business. Christopher joined in 1998, Rob joined in 2001, and finally, in 2004 Dave joined the ranks.
