Balloons can be a challenging material to work with. They can be popped, fly away, make a dash for the ceiling, deflate and even explode in very hot weather! Fear not though, we are more than aware of all the things that can go wrong and because of our expertise we have very few problems. We always carry plenty of spares and use a belt-and-braces approach to all our decorating jobs. We've occasionally lost balloons to the highest of ceilings in some very grand buildings; however, we have a secret way of getting these down without even using a ladder! Lucy: 'Balloons have a life of their own; they have a certain energy, they dance. I like our bouquets to reflect the natural movement you get with balloons, a kind of untamed wildness. I can get a bit carried away when I'm designing a new bouquet. Colour, texture and balance is important to me and a good bouquet has to have these elements right. I love working on site and transforming a room or a marquee. The only thing I'm really not keen on is those twisting balloon animals...please don't ask me to start twisting, I'll leave all that to the children's entertainers!'
