All sight tests are available free to all UK residents in Scotland through the NHS. If you are over 60 and under 16 you may be entitled to an annual sight test. Further NHS entitlements (help towards your spectacles) are available for: Children under 16 Under 19s in full time education Those receiving income support Income based job seekers allowance Those holding a valid NHS tax exemption certificate Those who have a valid HC2 certificate Those in receipt of Employment Support Allowance Those who receive Pension Credit Guarantee An eye test not only checks your vision and your ability to see well, it also checks for all kinds of eye disease and is an invaluable part of an overall health assessment. Forde opticians have invested in state-of-the-art retinal cameras and optical coherence tomography (OCT) , visual field equipment, and binocular slit lamp microscopes to enable them to screen for Glaucoma, Cataract, Diabetes, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Dry Eyes, and many more eye conditions.
