Ford Judo Club

After over 30 years, Bill Taylor has retired as head coach of Ford Judo Club. Producing some fantastic Judo players over the years, including National Champions and British Squad members, Bill has decided the time has come to step down. He will be sorely missed, but his committment, dedication, and efforts at the club will always be remembered and appreciated by all who passed through the Dojo.

Ford Judo Club has been in existence for over 40 years. It has moved from its original home of Ford Sports and Social Club, and is now based at Westlands playing fields (St Edwards Secondary School), Romford. We are currently one of the UK's top judo clubs, with a number of our young fighters gaining places in the British Squad. All of our coaches have passed National Governing Body coaching schemes, are first aid trained. Ford Judo Club now has more than 50 members, starting in age from five years old, through to over sixty.

Ford Judo Club welcomes players of all standards to its dojo (or training hall). There are beginners Judo classes for children aged from 5-10 years to introduce them to the fundamentals of judo. There is also an Intermediate/Advanced class aimed at children who want to learn more and to start progressing through the grading system denoted by coloured and banded belts.
