European Law Monitor

European Law Monitor
Most ordinary people and organisations in Europe have little idea as to the extent they are governed by EU legislation. Nor do they have much understanding of the legislative process of the European Union, how EU Laws are made, where EU Directives and Regulations come from, or how they are implemented by EU member states. The result of the Brexit referendum has raised huge issues of democracy, constitutional law and parliamentary sovereignty in the UK. It has dramatically changed the relationship between the UK and the EU institutions and individual member states. We aim to monitor the changing dynamics of those relationships and the resulting impact of the legal and constitutional changes affecting the UK in post-referendum Britain to improve understanding of the really difficult legal and constitutional issues that Brexit poses, stripping away the political rhetoric.
