Esmond Garage

Esmond Garage Ltd was established by William Thatcher in 1960 in Esmond Street, Putney. Specialising in diesels, William built up one of the biggest fleets of black taxis in London, with over 90 cabs. The expansion of the business in 1976 prompted the company to move to larger premises at Iffley Rd, Hammersmith. In the early 80's, with the trend for cab drivers to become owner operators, Esmond Garage turned the focus towards the private car. Over the next 20 years we have built a business committed to the service and maintenance of private cars and light vans. Future car design for London (electric, hybrid and low emission) is still uncertain but we are confident about being experienced and adaptable enough to embrace all future technology.
