Eastleigh Karate Club Ninbukan

Eastleigh Karate Club Ninbukan
Tanigawa Sensei's deeper understanding of Goju which he refers to as Inyo. The techniques (waza) of Inyo Karate Do contain both hard method techniques (Go ho waza) and soft method techniques (Ju ho waza). This correct blend of techniques comes from the Japanese interpretation of the Chinese ‘Yin Yang’ philosophy, these dual qualities are known as ‘In’ and ‘Yo’ respectively. ‘Inyodo’, meaning ‘The Way of Yin and Yang’. The inyo symbol has a large circle (Yo) that represents the universe. Within this and connecting with it at just one point, there is a smaller circle (In). The larger area is usually white, the smaller circle is red. When red, it reflects the image of the sun disc on the Japanese flag and the white crescent is seen as representative of the moon.
