Treatments are gently given with very fine needles at points on the body that have been used by practitioners for thousands of years. Pressure can be used on these points instead but any effect may take longer to manifest. Moxibustion treatment, bringing heat to the point from burning a tiny amount of dried herb (Mugwort) is often used to increase the effect and promote relaxation.
