I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001, having completed my training with KPMG London. I was involved in the audit of many well known businesses, and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience during my traineeship. Following a short spell in investment banking, I moved on to the BBC, initially working as a management accountant, before being promoted to a Business Analysis & Planning Manager. Latterly, I worked as a Finance Manager before leaving London to return home to Scotland. I returned to practice in 2008, working with owner managed businesses. I quickly discovered that my financial and management skills could make a real difference to small businesses and their owners and I remain passionate and committed to this cause.
