Artist David Pinkett was born in Nottinghamshire in 1961 and has always been fascinated by art. His inspiration for art comes from his father and photography from his grandfather on his mothers side. He developed skills as a model maker which led to him construction exclusive models for eminent figures in F1 motorsport, from this he worked on a variety of projects for high profile clients. He first exhibited art works at a local open exhibition in Nottinghamshire, in the early 1990's.

After a number of years away from artistic creativity due to work and family commitments, David was advised to do something to help regain hand / eye co-ordination after suffering a stroke in 2006. He started to paint again and took up photography more seriously developing his own Miksang style. It wasn't long after this that he had a number of exhibitions of his photography, culminating in his first solo show in Nottingham.
