David May Motor Services Ivybridge was formed in 1979 by David and Shelagh May. Based at Park Street, Ivybridge, the garage began by carrying out vehicle body and mechanical repairs and, from the outset, the principle of the company was to offer affordable service with customer care the priority. A principle still carried on to this day. In 1992 it was decided to move to a purpose built site on Ermington Road, Ivybridge, in order to have all operations under one roof, including a display area for up to 20 selected used cars.
David May Motor Services is now recommended body repairers for numerous insurance companies as well as a Dupont five star dealership. The workshop is managed by David May and Paula Stedding, while the body shop is run by Michael Lavers who has been with the company for over 20 years. The car sales and van and minibus hire department is the responsibility of sales manager Rod Blatchford who has over 20 years experience in the motor trade.
