The sad truth is that many advisers have worked on the basis of earning a big commission up front and then the client gets little or no ongoing service. I don't operate that way. Many of my clients pay an ongoing fee for me to monitor, review and update them on their investments, so my income is very stable. Many of our clients have been with us for over a decade and you can probably appreciate that we therefore understand their requirements very well and that a strong, trusting relationship exists.
