As a traditional sawmill we mill straight from felled Cedar, Larch, Douglas Fir, and Sweet Chestnut trees. Sourcing our timber from within the UK and milling it into a high quality product that is suitable for internal and external cladding flooring, fencing, sheds, field shelters, car ports, Yorkshire Boarding, garden architectural projects, and many more applications.
We generally recommend Larch as a structural timber e.g. Window frames, sills, furniture, flooring and the like because it is the hardest of the soft woods. Western red cedar on the other hand has traditionally been used for external cladding, it's lighter, more durable and by nature has stood the test of time. Also great for summer houses, green houses, conservatory, boat building, garden offices/workshops, all sorts of timber constructions along with decking rails, balusters, spindles, Yorkshire Boarding, raised beds and is recommend as a timber for bee hives.
All the timber we supply has a low carbon footprint without compromising the quality of the timber. Here at CO2 Timber we aim to keep our carbon footprint and that of the products we produce to a minimum and encourage sustainable practices. We use our off cuts in our commercial wood burning stove to heat our workshop in winter and provide heat for our kiln drying process.
