Since its discovery Chiropractic has been based on the scientific fact that the nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. The spinal cord is protected by twenty four bones called vertebrae. It is necessary for these vertebrae to be flexible so that we can move as we do. However this makes it possible for them to move out of position and lose their normal motion. When they lose their normal position they can irritate the major nerve roots which exit from the spine through gaps in the vertebrae. This causes interference to the nervous system and disrupts the function of the tissues and organs which these nerves control. This can cause many health problems far in excess of back pain and neck pain.
