Cherry Orchard Garden Service (commonly called COGS) is a training and support opportunity run for and by people with a Learning Disability; where they are assisted to become gardeners with an employable skill. Once their skills have developed through training, the Gardeners join the Service Provision Team maintaining gardens for elderly residents of Lichfield and Burntwood under contract to a local charity.
By being a member of COGS, the learning disabled work force receive guidance to support them in their lives outside of COGS, assistance with independent living, social interaction, family problems and generalised personal development all in which is geared to supporting the members to be active and respected members of their community.
