2014 has been a big year for change for Cheese and Chutney; we have handed over the keys of our successful delicatessen to new owners to enable us to bring our delicious foods directly to our customers through our growing outside catering and cheese wedding cake business.
Matt opened the doors to Cheese and Chutney in October 2008. His idea was to bring fine foods and excellent service to the people of Saltaire and surrounding areas. Over the next 6 years Cheese and Chutney became part of the local community offering a wide selection of fine local produce, UK & International cheeses and store cupboard ingredients.
For 3 years running Cheese and Chutney organised "The Yorkshire Food Fair" as part of the Saltaire festival allowing Yorkshire based small producers to show off their wares and allow the festival visitors to sample some of the foodie delights that Yorkshire offers.
Cheese and Chutney has also become very well known for its Cheese Wedding cakes, offering "bespoke" individually designed cakes as an alternative to the online pre-set cakes. Matt, a "World Cheese Awards" judge uses his vast experience of different cheeses to put together a "one off" wedding cake that uses the couple's favourite cheeses.
