Carl Scarpa (Belfast)

The founder of our company 'Carl Scarpa' was actually a cousin of the famous Italian architect "Carlo Scarpa", one of the most important architects of the twentieth century. Undoubtedly they shared many creative genes from the same gene pool. Today this gifted heritage and Italian tradition for quality and design lives on in Carl Scarpa's name. One remarkable outcome of his love affair with Ireland was the opening, of his first international shop, in Sligo, Ireland in 1974. This was an instant success and quickly his collections became known for sophisticated Italian style and design detail.

He firmly believed that a woman should buy her shoes first and then compliment them with the rest of her outfit. Today this company that bears his name is still famous for exquisite ladies Italian shoes and bags. All of our labels have their own distinctive style. Each of our collections is exclusive to Carl Scarpa and within that, we regard each style as our signature.
