Massage is a very old and very natural form of personal therapy. It's origins can be traced back as far as 5000 years and was known to be in daily use by the Romans and ancient Greeks. We are all familiar with massage, whether we realise it or not! If you knock into a door frame with your arm the first thing you do to try and sooth the pain is to rub it. It is an instinctive action, but when you think about it this is a form of massage. By taking that principal further and using the careful application of a variety of massage techniques a trained massage practitioner can start to target different conditions and create different responses.
