Our parent organisation is a mutual, founded in 1905. Its original mission in the early 20th Century was to provide affordable treatment for postal workers suffering from Tuberculosis before evolving into the organisation it is today: providing a wide range of discretionary services to a membership of almost 900,000 but retaining the same affordable and mutual ethos.
