Ben Elliot Acupuncture

Some people come for treatment of a specific issue or symptom, whereas others come to improve general wellbeing. Acupuncture addresses imbalances within the body by stimulating specific points on channels called meridians. There is also ongoing research that is collecting evidence on how acupuncture affects hormones in the body and brain activity.

Ben studied acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) in York, completing a Post Graduate Diploma with distinction. He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, and National Association of Massage and Manipulative Therapists.

He treats a variety of conditions, specialising predominately in musculo-skeletal issues. Ben has undertaken additional training in Japanese Acupuncture which integrates western physiology into the ancient theories of Oriental Medicine, and pulse diagnosis which is an intricate and valuable diagnostic tool.

When he is not practicing Acupuncture Ben teaches at the Northern College of Acupuncture, covering the practical elements of the course such as, bodywork (massage), acupuncture point location, clinical skills and pulse diagnosis. He also has an involvement within the research module due to his work on acupuncture based clinical trials at York University.
