Behind Bars grew into a business out of frustration, after over 30 years of riding off road motorcycles, an interest helped by a trials riding father, competing in motocross (scrambling as it was when I started) and Enduros with the odd bit of trials and trail riding. It became increasingly difficult to find local shops where I could go to buy kit suitable for a more mature rider who did not necessarily want the latest MX gear or widget from the USA. With a background in sales and many years in the motor trade including working for a Yamaha dealer back in the late 70´s and early 1980´s we set out to cater for Trail, Trials, Enduro, Supermoto and MX riders, only supplying products that we would use ourselves and most of the time had used.Having traded for a couple of years from outbuildings at home we moved into our first retail and workshop premises in 2003. We have now moved to larger premises in Kenilworth, Warwickshire and with more workshop space we are able to cater for all makes of road and off road bikes, quads and scooters including classic and vintage. With full workshop facilities and a MOT testing bay we can carry out all repairs from a simple puncture through to servicing, race or track day preparation, full engine re-builds, wheel building, suspension service and set up or full restoration of older bikes. We stock road, off road and scooter tyres and can supply tyres to suit all bikes and quads. We have in-house shot/sand blasting facilities and can offer welding (both steel and aluminium), polishing, powder coating, painting and plating services.
