Ashley Timber was formed on the 3rd October 1988 and moved onto its present town centre site in January 1989. It became quite evident early on that Ashley Timber's main asset is its prime location right in the heart of South Shields. It is easily accesible by every mode of transport - bus, metro, ferry and has ample car parking spaces of its own. During 1990, a small trade centre was therefore opened to encourage the jobbing builder, joinery manufacturer and the general public to just come on in and select their own timber.
Three trade centre extensions later and that is still the case today. A vast array of timber, building and hardware products awaits the discerning buyer. Everything from laminate flooring to loft boards from dressed timber to decking and from handrail to hinges. Finally, it is the vast experience and the helpful nature of our staff that really makes Ashley excel.
