My favourite thing to draw has always been flowers. Big, blousy blooms with strong colour and delicate petals. I never really thought of floristry as a career until I didn't get accepted to the course at university that I had intended on doing. My mum asked me what I enjoyed doing and when I replied I loved flowers and gardening, she advised that I should look into doing something my love of art and design and obsession with flowers. I was picking tomatoes as a summer job at a local growers and realised my interest in plants and flowers, but I had never heard of anyone going to college to learn floristry.
I decided to look into the City and Guilds Level 2 Floral Design and Langside College in Glasgow, and after being accepted to the course I realised I had a real passion for flowers that I'd never known.
I completed my course with a distinction and from that moment I knew I wanted to dive into any flower shop that would have me.
